In the Karnataka rallies during the recent state elections campaign, PM Narendra Modi ji mentioned about the abuses hurled against him by Congress. Congress called him akin to German dictator Hitler and will ‘die like Hitler’. They compared him to several kinds of animals and even issued a threat to ‘chop him into pieces’. How did Modi ji respond? He said, ‘it is their gift to me, I will continue to work for the country and its people’. But such an attitude seems hard to come by to Karnataka BJP leaders who handed crushing defeat to BJP. The brutal beating of BJP Karyakartas by Police in Puttur because they mocked Karnataka BJP State President Nalin Kateel and former CM Sadananda Gowda for their role in loss of BJP, in a banner using a garland of chappals shows the level of rot in the state BJP leadership. While the DYSP Veeriah Hiremath and the constables who committed this horrible brutality are being investigated, what is more important is to investigate the more than 200 calls the DYSP says he received putting pressure on him to take strict action against the activists. Who are the callers and are they acting as agents of Nalin Kateel himself or is it possible Nalin Kateel himself put the pressure? Nalin Kateel apparently issued a tweet condemning the action, but neither him or other leaders with one or two exceptions cared to visit the BJP activist victims of this brutality in spite of enormous publicity this received.
News articles reported that the main victim of this brutality, Avinash said that but for the intervention of the independent candidate (who was earlier denied ticket by state BJP) put up by the activists, he would have been killed. That independent candidate narrowly lost to the Congress candidate while the state BJP selected candidate got a distant third. The brutality against the Karyakarta(s) has to be seen to be believed (see images below). These are the people who will toil for the BJP in the coming central elections in May 2024. It is the ground level workers that make or break the future of the elections and if this is the way the leadership in Karnataka BJP chose to take revenge, what future holds for BJP in Karnataka. As if this is not enough, activists say the Congress candidate who won was apparently selected by the same Karnataka BJP establishment, indicating the deep rot in the state BJP.

Social media is buzzing with videos and messages of ground level Karyakartas expressing their frustration on the corruption, incompetence, egotistic and factional attitudes with complete disregard to those who are toiling on the ground, right from the top in the state BJP as well as Sangh leadership (with very few exceptions like CT Ravi). This could spell immense disaster to BJP’s future, especially in the coming 2024 elections. One such video where a doctor who took 2 to 3 hours time to volunteer for BJP without any personal expectation, in spite of her busy schedule expressing her frustration at the state BJP leadership is given below, She called the state BJP (as well as Sangh) leaders as traitors of the nation. It is tragic to see that Sangh, which was once the backbone of BJP for its selfless cadres, is now filled with those interested in power and money, rather than service. No wonder, in spite of Narendra Modi ji spending enormous time campaigning in the state in the end, the ground level workers were hardly motivated by the rotten state BJP establishment.
BJP Volunteer (doctor) calling State BJP leaders as traitors of the nation. She said in spite of hectic schedule she volunteered 2 to 3 hours every day with no personal expectation, but the corrupt state leaders are fighting within themselves for their own benefits and they are anti-national traitors of the country.
